Computerised distance measurement system - uses roller passing over road surface and has digital display of results

A measurement roller (1) is linked to a digital computer (2) which is also supplied with data concerning the basic measurement unit (5), or roller circumference. A program (4) in the computer processes the incoming information when a priming button is pressed, and displays it on a suitable digital display (3). Non metric displays and distances proportional to but not equal to the roller circumference movement as well as direct roller circumference movement displays are easily provided.
