The mechanism consists of base (6) fitted to the car floor with two seatings for lateral rods. One of the rods (9) has a set of levers (3) welded onto it, with toothed segment (7). The other rod (11) is fitted on the end of lever (5) with its other end seated on the base. The second lever (3) also has a toothed segment (7). Both segments are in mesh with gears (8) fitted on servomotors. The geometrical arrangement of the lever assemblies is such that, when both servomotors are simultaneously operated, the seat top performs a movement in horizontal direction. If only one servomotor is operated, the tilt of the seat is changed.
