A press drop damper for manometers or other measurements and recording devices used in press. pipes is designed for reliable protection against sudden loss of press as often encountered during testing of hydraulic pipes etc. return valve cone (4) permits free flow of the medium between the two halves (1, 2) of the housing in the opening direction. In the opposite direction it prevents free flow and compresses the medium which can pass only slowly through a capillary formed by the two valves of the housing and the damping plug (3). This prevents rapid press drop in the measurement device. Sealing of the assembly is accomplished by the use of an O-ring (8) and a packing ring (9).
