PURPOSE:To entangle short fibers in filaments while collecting the short fibers therein and prevent the falling off and flying of the short fibers, by means of collecting guides provided between front rollers and self-twisting rollers. CONSTITUTION:Short fibers (S) and (S') fed from the rear of back rollers 2 and drafted between the back rollers 2 and front rollers 4 are combined with filaments (F) and (F') fed from the rear of the front rollers 4, and the resultant combined filaments are false twisted by self-twisting rollers 6 alternately to give S- and Z- twists. The short fibers (S) and (S') and the filaments (F) and (F') form core yarns (Y) and (Y') respectively, and then alternate self twists of the S- and Z- twists are formed at a guide 7 to prepare a self-twisted core yarn (Y). In the process, collecting guides 5 and 5' are provided between the front rollers 4 and self-twisting rollers 6, and the combined short fibers (S) and (S') with the filaments (F) and (F') are passed through the collecting guides 5 and 5'. Thus, the short fibers (S) and (S') adhere to the filaments (F) and (F') with certainty. |
