The board-like metal profiles (1) have on one side channels (4) which are formed by ribs (5, 5'). Insulated resistance wires (7) are pulled into the channels (4). In order to increase the heat exchange, that side (2) of the profile (1) which emits or absorbs heat can be provided with ribs (8). The profiles (1) can be attached to the wall (11) by attachment means (9). The profiles (1) can be joined to corresponding intermediate profiles (17) to form large heating bodies and in consequence have good adaptability to different installation conditions. A heating body having a low weight can be achieved by using aluminium.
