PURPOSE: To provide a sintered clinker for refractory, having excellent corrosion resistance and producible by a sintering method without adding a flux component giving adverse effect on corrosion resistance. CONSTITUTION: This sintered material has a chemical composition containing 30-61wt.% of Cr2 O3 , 7-30wt.% of Al2 O3 , 10-45wt.% of ZrO2 and 10-30wt.% of SiO2 and free from mullite phase as a compound. The sum of the above components is >=96wt.% and the weight ratio of SiO2 to the sum of the alkali metal oxide and alkaline earth metal oxide is >=20:1. It can be produced by mixing powdery raw materials to the above ratios, forming the mixture optionally after the addition of a forming plasticizer to the mixture and baking the formed material at 1600-1850 deg.C in an oxidizing atmosphere. |
