EVALUATING SYSTEM FOR ERROR DETECTING FUNCTION IN DATA TRANSFER

PURPOSE:To easily place high evaluation on the error detecting function in serial data transfer, by executing the error detecting function based on a serial data in which bit missing is generated in the desired bit of a read data compulsorily. CONSTITUTION:A gate circuit GC which masks and outputs the prescribed data of the serial data returned from a transfer opposite based on a control data set programmably in a masking controller MCONT is provided. Since the read data can be supplied to a disk controller HDC by masking programmably the appropriate number of bits in the read data corresponding to the format of a disk, it is possible to evaluate for an error detecting and correcting function based on whether the hard disk controller HDC can perform error detection or error correction corresponding to the above operation.
