PURPOSE:To make a motor lightweight and thin-shaped, by magnetically composing the flux paths of permanent magnets and exciting coils so that the flux may go through a moving piece. CONSTITUTION:A flat-plate-shaped linear pulse motor is arranged on a base 10 and composed of a stator 1 having pole tooth lines 11a-11d to make a pair in the upper and lower parts, a flat-plate-shaped moving piece 2 forming pole teeth 21 with a predetermined pitch on the upper and lower surfaces opposite to the stator 1 and a bearing mechanism 3 inserted between the stator 1 and the moving piece 2. This stator 1 is arranged with a flat-plate-shaped pole tooth member 11 at both ends of the base 10, in the centre of which flat- plate-shaped pole tooth members 15-18 are arranged through exciting coils 12 and 12b and sector-plate-shaped permanent magnets 13 and 14 and are integrally secured. Since the flux paths of permanent magnets 13 and 14 and exciting coils 12 and 12a go through the moving piece 2 accordingly, the dimension in the direct on of thinness of the moving piece 2 has no influence. The moving piece 2 can thereby be made thinner and lighter to improve the vibration and impact characteristics.
