The invention relates to a device for adjusting the angle of a seat backrest, with a shaft which can be rotated for adjusting the angle of the seat backrest and has a concentric portion and an eccentric portion; a conical bushing which receives the eccentric portion of the shaft and has a conical, inner circumferential surface; a gear mechanism with an outer toothed ring and an inner toothed ring in engagement with the outer toothed ring, the inner toothed ring having more teeth than the outer toothed ring; a first arm with one of the two toothed rings, which is mounted rotatably at its centre on the concentric portion; a second arm with the other toothed ring, which is mounted rotatably at its centre over the conical bushing.
