A hairbrush with a cavity, which can be closed from outside, to receive a hair-treatment liquid is known. When the hair of the head is brushed, the hair-treatment liquid is applied to the latter and to the scalp. For this purpose, some of the bristles are designed as tubes which communicate with the cavity. Each tube contains a valve plunger for actuating a valve which normally blocks passage of the liquid through the tube. However, this results in this hairbrush having a complicated construction. By contrast, in the solution according to the invention, the valve bodies of a plurality of tubes 15a are combined together to a set 27. This valve body set 27 is actuated only by a valve plunger 19 guided in a central tube 15b. In this simplified solution it is advantageous moreover for the cross-section of the passages 18 of the tubes 15a to be completely free for the liquid to pass through. When the hairbrush is used, the sealing bodies 23 are together pushed inwards by the valve plunger 19, which abolishes their sealing function and allows hair-treatment liquid to flow outwards through the tubes 15a to the scalp and hair. After the hairbrush has been used, a single valve spring 25 moves the sealing bodies 23 back together into their sealing positions. <IMAGE>
