Magneto=optical disc system - has erase head and read-write head to provide write again facility
摘要
An optical disc system has a positioning carriage (4) that supports an erase head (7) on one projecting arm (5) and a read/write head (8) on another arm. A permanent magnet is located on the underside of the disc and aligns with the head. An optical system consisting of a laser source, lenses and mirrors allow a read/write beam to be focussed onto the surface of the disc. The erase head (7) allows the local temp. to be raised above the Curie temp. and current information is eliminated. This is followed by the write cycle using the read/write head to provide localised heating to enter a 'I' state. ADVANTAGE - Provides wire again facility for optical discs.
