PURPOSE: To improve the difference in light absorption between an amorphous state and a crystalline state of a recording layer and to produce an information recording medium fit to attain high recording density. CONSTITUTION: A dielectric protective layer 3, a phase change recording layer 1, a dielectric protective layer 2, a light absorbing protective layer 7, a reflecting layer 4 and a resin protective layer 5 are successively formed on a substrate 6 to obtain the objective phase change optical disk. The light absorbing protective layer 7 contains a dielectric material and a metallic, metalloid or semiconductor material. |
