<p>PURPOSE:To effectively and economically remove ethylene gas in a storage for keeping freshness by introducing an ethylene gas-containing air 1 in the hangar for vegetables and fruits into a reactor, decomposing and removing ethylene by corona discharge and subsequently circulating the treated air into the above-mentioned hangar. CONSTITUTION:A blower 2 is connected to a vegetable and fruit hangar 1 for storage of fruits, vegetables, etc., at a cold temperature or the ordinary temperature and an ethylene gas-containing air in the above-mentioned hangar 1 is introduced through the blower 2 into a reactor 4. After decomposition and removal by corona discharge from a corona discharge electrode 7 in the reactor 4, the treated air is circulated into the above-mentioned hangar 1 again, thus carrying out the objective removal of ethylene gas.</p> |
