PURPOSE: To provide the machine translation part system which can promote the understanding of the meaning of an original sentence by constituting and generating a translation by properly mixing word character strings of a 1st languages with word strings of a 2nd language A for adaption to styles of translations diversified owing to differences in knowledge among users. CONSTITUTION: This system has an input part 1 for inputting characters, a dictionary part 4 which contains knowledge information for converting an inputted natural language into the 2nd language, and a translation style selecting means 3a which recognizes the phrases and clauses (main clause, coordinate clause and subordinate clause) in the input sentence and determines a translation style according to the structure of the recognized input sentence, and is equipped with a translation part 3 which performs conversion into a sentence of the 2nd language or a sentence of the 2nd language including character strings of the 1st language on the basis of information on the translation style selected by the translation style selecting means 3 by using the knowledge information of the dictionary part 4 and a control part 2 which controls all the processes. |
