PURPOSE:To prevent the simultaneous feed of two or more recording media and the damage of the rear of the recording medium by providing a recording layer containing an electron donating color forming compd. and an electron acceptive compd. to one surface of a support and roughening the other surface of the support. CONSTITUTION:An electron donating color forming compd. and an electron acceptive compd. are uniformly dispersed or dissolved in water or an org. solvent along with a binder resin to prepare a coating solution for a recording layer. Separately, a polymer such as polyvinyl alcohol or polyvinyl butyral is dissolved in a solvent and a filler such as molybdenum disulfide or talc is dispersed in the resulting solution to prepare a coating solution for a rough surface layer. The coating solution for the recording layer is applied to one surface of a support such as paper, synthetic paper or a plastic film and dried to form the recording layer. Further, the coating solution for the rough surface layer is applied to the other surface of the support and dried to form the rough surface layer to obtain a reversible thermal recording medium. A protective layer can be laminated on the recording layer and an undercoat layer can be formed on the under surface of the support. |
