<p>The present invention relates to a composition and method for inhibiting chloride-induced corrosion of and limescale formation on ferrous metals and alloys which contact aqueous solutions, the composition containing a corrosion inhibiting amount of at least one polycarboxylic acid and/or its alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salts and a sufficient amount of a base to bring the aqueous solution to a pH effective to inhibit both chloride-induced corrosion and limescale formation.</p> |
