PURPOSE:To produce a monolithic catalyst capable of efficiently removing NOx even after use at a high temp. for a long time and not causing the peeling of the catalytic component and to provide a method for purifying exhaust gas with the catalyst. CONSTITUTION:When a honeycomb carrier is wash-coated with a powdery catalytic component, a precipitate prepd. from a potassium salt soln. and a phosphate soln. is used as a binder.
