<p>PURPOSE: To provide an intuitive graphic user interface based on a 'space' concept for not making a user conscious of a hierarchical file structure without the need of installing an application software accompanying the extension of a system. CONSTITUTION: This graphic user interface is used and plural remote devices and a hand-held display device 170 are constituted of a memory 33, a CPU 30, an I/O unit 34, a communication circuit 35, a touch screen display 37 and an input device 42. The remote devices and the hand-held display device 170 are connected by a communication medium 160. In the user interface, communication spaces are constituted of a map structure and displayed as graphic images on the display 37. In the respective spaces, an icon like a cartoon called an object is color displayed. When the icon pertinent to the remote device is selected by the input device 42, an operation is performed. Also, when a specified object called 'portal' is selected, movement is performed from the present space to the different space.</p> |
