PURPOSE:To enable the construction of display panel units in accordance with needs and varied display control by commonly driving and controlling a plurality of display panel units which are combined and connected to one another to a predetermined display size in accordance with application. CONSTITUTION:A display panel unit 1 is composed of LED display dot matrices and enables the construction of display of flexible display size in accordance with needs such as application and installation conditions from 2 characters to the maximum 16 characters at 4 steps. A control board 2 is a general-purpose control processor unit on which a CPU, a ROM 3, a RAM 4, and a display panel unit drive circuit 5 which can be adapted to flexible display size are mounted, and is provided with a connector in which signals from a memory card 6, a sensor, and a relay 7 are inputted. Consequently, since it is possible to address, write, and read a predetermined position of a display data memory, varied display control can be carried out including the simultaneous execution of a plurality of sequences on the display panel unit.
