PURPOSE: To set an area automatically and to simplify trouble of entry operation by comparing threshold levels designated in advance and gradation sets of image data so as to set the area and storing the information of the set area. CONSTITUTION: Image data of an original read by a scanner 1 are transferred to an image processing section via a selector 3. Then a processing section conducts image processing such as variable, movement, erasure and inversion and image edge emphasis, filter processing such as smoothing, gray level correction processing, color conversion processing and complementary color conversion processing and provides the result to a printer, in which a recording image is reproduced on recording paper. When the area designation mode is selected, image data of an original are once stored in an image memory 2 and read and displayed on a liquid crystal display unit and when area information is entered by the entry operation from an operation display section, an area designation circuit 5 designates a desired area and stores the data representing the area once to an area designation memory 6 together with the area number. Then the data are read and the delay required for synchronization is provided and the result is outputted. |
