PURPOSE: To decrease the size of and increase the bearing pressure of a pad in a thrust bearing and to provide a thrust bearing device of a simple structure causing less fluid loss. CONSTITUTION: A pad 8 in a thrust bearing supports a rotational plate rotating in the arrow A direction slidably. In a sliding part of a pad pedestal metal 8a, a lamination body 8b constructed of a porous layer 11 consisting of PTFE 9, a porous body 10, a wire, and the like is inserted in a recessed groove on the upper face of the pad pedestal metal 8a, and on both sides of a lamination body 8a, elastic bodies 12 such as corrugated plate springs are arranged, while outer circumference sides are fixed by means of pressing plates 13. The pad 8 is supported by means of a coil spring 14. A bearing diagnosing sensor 15 is arranged on the outlet side of the lamination body 8b. |
