PURPOSE: To provide a group Fe base amorphous metallic filament which shows stable bistable magnetic characteristic of specific line diameter which can be used as a compact pulse voltage generation element. CONSTITUTION: A group Fe base amorphous metallic filament is constituted to satisfy following composition, magnetostriction, line diameter and cross section: Composition; An element of a group Fe radical is at least 65 atomic %. Magnetostriction; An absolute value of a magnetostriction constant is at least 1×10<-6> . Line diameter; At most 100μm. Cross sectional contour; Flatness is at most 30% (0% is not included) and circularity is at least 70%.
