A combinational weigher with scale hoppers (15), transfer hoppers (16), and holding hoppers (17); all of which participate in each weighing cycle in sequence to provide multi-shift operation. A computer controller transfers material from the weighing hopper, from the transfer hopper to the holding hopper, and from the holding hopper to a curved chute (18). The weighing hopper includes double clam shell doors; the upper portion of the doors extend into the upper portion of the hopper when the hopper is discharging thereby closing off the upper portion of the hopper in order to intercept any in-flight material (P1) which is part of the next batch. A nautilus cam operates the clam shell doors on all of the hoppers. The holding hopper doors slant at an angle along the lower closing lips of the doors. The large capacity hoppers can be easily replaced with small capacity hoppers and vice versa.
