Process for disinfecting wastewater through the application of electrostatic fields

A process for the disinfection of wastewater through the following stages is proposed: a) pre-treatment and primary treatment and/or physical/chemical and/or secondary treatment and/or lagooning, b) filtering through sand beds and/or microfiltering, c) application of electrostatic field(s) which act(s) as a deencrusting agent for the sludge deposited in the circuit and a disinfectant for the wastewater. The effluent from stage c) comprises the wastewater conditioned for use in agriculture, urban areas, golf courses, cooling towers and industrial processes.
