The bearing element has two adjustable, height defining bearing elements (2,3) that can be adjusted relative to each other in one direction between two end positions. In at least one of the two end positions, the two bearing parts are in contact via an electrode (6) defining the distance between the two parts, in this first end position. The distance-defining dimension of the first electrode is electrolytically variable.
