PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup system that can record image data picked up by an electronic still camera to both a CF card of the electronic still camera and a recorder of a personal computer. SOLUTION: When a release operation is made by an electronic still camera 1, an MPU 11 records image data outputted from an image pickup element 14 onto a CF card 12. Furthermore, the MPU 11 stores the image data also to a transfer buffer memory 131 of an interface circuit 13. The image data stored in the transfer buffer memory 131 is transferred to a transfer buffer memory 231 provided to an interface circuit 23 of a personal computer 2 connected by an IEEE-1394 cable 3. The MPU 21 of the personal computer 2 reads the image data captured by the personal computer 2 from the transfer buffer memory 231 and records the data to a prescribed recording area of a recorder 22. |
