OPERATION OF CELLULAR COMMUNICATION SYSTEM BASING ON MOBILITY COLLECTED BY MOVING UNIT AND COMMUNICATION TRAFFIC STATISTICS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the operation control of a cell system capable of efficiently using network resources. SOLUTION: Moving units 108 and 110 accumulate the statistic of mobility or teletraffic for indicating an operation inside a cellular communication system. The mobile units transmit the totaled statistic to the base station 106 or 112 of a micro cell 112 or a macro cell 104 at the time of call termination or call origination to the mobile unit or at the time of the hand-off request of a call or at the time of a registration process. Characteristics monitored by the mobile units include call sojourn time, area sojourn time, call holding time and the ratio to incoming calls of originating calls, etc. Monitored and accumulated data decide which of the micro cell or the macro cell a new call and a hand-off call are to be allocated to and the priority of a call processing inside the cellular communication system by the base station which receives them.
