PURPOSE: To prevent an incoming call detection mistake due to leakage of an external light or the like by detecting a lighting at the arrival of a call to a pocket beeper so as to eliminate the need for a conventional call reception signal terminal. CONSTITUTION: Blinking of a light emitting element 3b of a pocket beeper 3 at the arrival of a call is converted into an on/off signal Sa by a light receiving element 11 and the signal is given to an incoming call detection circuit 12. An output of the incoming call detection circuit controls a power supply witching circuit 4 to apply on/off control an operation power supply fed to a notice voice generating section 10 or a light emitting element section 8. The incoming call detection circuit 12 is provided with a timer circuit 12 started by an initial pulse of the on/off signal Sa and with a counter circuit 12b counting whether or not number of on/off signal pulses Sa reaches a prescribed number till the timer circuit counts a prescribed time. When number of pulses do not reach a prescribed number within a prescribed time, no incoming call signal RG is outputted.
