Cultures are grown in sealable containers (2) with a gas inlet connected to a control system for the atmosphere (9) inside the containers and the case in which the containers are present. An incubator (1) for treating cultures comprises a case with a door containing supports for culture containers and an atmosphere control system for regulating atmosphere parameters such as temperature, humidity and/or carbon dioxide content inside the incubator. The containers are sealable and include at least one gas inlet. The atmosphere control system and/or case include lines for supplying gas from this system to the gas inlets in the containers. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) Method for treating the atmosphere inside an incubator by treating a gas (e.g. air) obtained from the surrounding atmosphere by e.g. purification, cleaning, adding additives and/or humidifying and treating another gas (e.g. air) intended to be provide the atmosphere in a container for placing in the incubator; and (2) Container for use in the incubator.
