PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the operability of a controller so as to reduce frictional force generated between an operating knob and a connection member when the operating knob is rotated. SOLUTION: The controller has: the operating knob 10 having a knob part 11, a cylindrical member 12 coaxial with the knob part 11, and an operating rod 13 attached to the center of the cylindrical member 12; a housing 30 mounted with the operating knob 10 on a top surface; the connection member 20 positioned between the operating knob 10 and the housing 30; and a sensor 40 for detecting the verticality, inclination and rotation of the operating rod 13. The connection member 20 has a smoothing member 21 receiving the cylindrical member 12 inserted rotatably and provided with a smooth surface of contact with the operating knob 10, and a cylindrical shock absorbing member 22 substantially of the same inside diameter as the smoothing member 21 attached to the smoothing member 21 and provided with a plurality of axial grooves in an inner surface. The housing 30 has a plurality of projections 32 inserted in the plurality of respective grooves formed in the shock absorbing member 22 to hold the connection member 20. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
