PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscopic recess working apparatus capable of solving problems that microscopic recesses are hardly arranged regularly, and the manufacturing cost is increased when working microscopic recesses by a conventional method using shot blasts. SOLUTION: An apparatus for forming microscopic recesses on an inner circumferential surface Ba of a cylindrical bore B of a cylinder block CB comprises a roller supporting member 11, a form roller 12 for forming recesses, and a compressive coil spring 16 to press the form roller 12 against the inner circumferential surface Ba of the cylinder bore B on a tool holder 10 to be rotated by a spindle 3, and further, includes a roller driving means 13 to rotate the form roller 12. The slip between the inner circumferential surface Ba of the cylinder bore B and the form roller 12 is prevented, the microscopic recesses of high accuracy are formed regularly and efficiently, the productivity is enhanced, and the manufacturing cost is reduced.
