PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent water from being jetted to the outside of a washing tub in the case that a door body closing an opening is turned upwards during washing. SOLUTION: This dishwasher is provided with a shielding plate 3 which is vertically turnably supported to the washing tub 10 having the opening for taking dishes A in and out on the front surface side, is freely turnably pivoted to the door body 2 closing the opening, and shields the lower part of the opening. In order to regulate the posture of the shielding plate 3 so as to position the lower end of the shielding plate 3 at the upper part of the washing tub 10, a connection arm 4 is freely turnably provided on the free end of the shielding plate 3 and the other end of the connection arm 4 is movably engaged with a guide groove 12 in a vertical direction provided on the side face wall 10e of the washing tub 10.
