An antenna apparatus of a portable terminal is provided to reduce the installation space of an antenna unit only for broadcasting and achieve the miniaturization of terminals by forming an antenna part, which receives broadcast signals, at an outer side of the antenna jack housing of a DMB phone and to reduce the number of antenna components and save a manufacturing cost by configuring the antenna part in the form of a meander line. An antenna apparatus of a portable terminal is composed of an antenna part(10), an insulator part(20), and an antenna switching part. The antenna part(10) is formed along the outer circumferential side of an antenna jack(1a) to receive broadcast signals according to the connection of an exterior antenna only for broadcasting. The insulator part(20) is formed at a lower part of the antenna jack(1a) to insulate the antenna part(10). The antenna switching part, electrically contacting a jack ground contact installed in the antenna jack(1a) when the exterior antenna is combined with the antenna jack(1a), is electrically connected with contact of a signal input part of the portable terminal so that received signals of the exterior antenna can be supplied to the portable terminal. In case the exterior antenna is separated from the antenna jack(1a), the antenna switching part is electrically disconnected with the jack ground contact. At the same time, the antenna switching part, is electrically connected with antenna ground contact of the antenna part(10), is electrically connected with the contact of the signal input part so that received signals of the antenna part(10) can be supplied to the portable terminal.
