#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves realizing a surveillance of an aircraft environment to detect surrounding aircrafts in a detection space. Distance and altitude information of each surrounding aircraft is generated and respective values are determined for each detected surrounding aircraft. An auxiliary characteristic symbol representing the surrounding aircraft and positioned on a stability axis at a preset position, is presented on a display screen (4), where the position corresponds to an ordinate axis representative of the altitude value and to an abscissas axis representative of the distance value. #CMT# : #/CMT# Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for assisting steering of an aircraft (2) an aircraft comprising a device implementing an aircraft steering assisting method. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Used for assisting steering of an aircraft (claimed) e.g. military or civil transport aircraft, for a pilot or copilot. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The method provides, to the pilot, the graphical representation which provides readable and comprehensible presentation of the effective situation of his surrounding environment in a vertical plane since the characteristic symbol is situated on the ordinate axis representative of the altitude value.
