A communication control method of a network management device is provided to be capable of controlling event transmission intervals from each network device according to a transceiving amount of packets or speed of a communication medium, thereby performing optimal data communication. A transceiving amount or speed of a connected network is decided on(S51). An increase/decrease amount of event transmission intervals of a network device is set according to the decided results(S52,S53). The set increase/decrease amount of the event transmission intervals is transmitted to the network device through the network(S54). The network device receives the increase/decrease amount(S61). If an event occurs, the network device transmits a packet corresponding to the event to a network manager according to the event transmission intervals reflected with the increase/decrease amount.
