PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver in which, when a remote controller is operated for a video/audio output device, a power-off function of the television receiver can be prevented from working, until a predetermined time lapses. SOLUTION: When a main power source of the television receiver is turned on, a timer starts measuring the time and after the lapse of a predetermined time, the main power source is turned off but if key operation of a remote controller is performed for a DVD player or any key operation other than a power key of the remote controller is performed for the television receiver before the predetermined time lapses, the timer is reset. Thus, the main power source of the television receiver is not turned off before the lapse of the predetermined time that is measured again from the beginning, such that the main power source of the television receiver is not turned off while viewing video/audio information from the DVD player or the like.
