PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission device for a four-wheel drive vehicle capable of mounting a viscous coupling for differential restriction of left and right wheels with a margin and mounting it by a simple constitution without large alteration. SOLUTION: The power transmission device for the four-wheel drive vehicle has a left and rear wheels differential device 10 in which drive torque E from an engine is inputted to a differential case 11; left and right drive shafts 2, 3 for transmitting drive torque of the engine to the left and right drive wheels by being connected to a pair of side gears 14, 15 of the differential device; and a transfer 50 connected so as to be integrally rotated with the differential case, having a hollow sleeve 60 penetrated with one drive shaft of the left and right drive shafts and distributing drive torque transmitted to the hollow sleeve to the other drive wheel through an orthogonal gear 80. The viscous coupling 70 is arranged in a space between an inner periphery of the hollow sleeve 60 and an outer periphery of the drive shaft 3 penetrating through the hollow sleeve 60.
