PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart sufficient strength and turning performance while making a double-wheel caster for a bag miniaturized and light in weight. SOLUTION: Two wheels 1 of this double-wheel caster are rotatably supported by an axle 3. Both ends of the axle 3 are fixed to a yoke 2. A friction reduction mechanism is clamped between the wheels 1. The friction reduction mechanism comprises a circular disc 4 and ten balls 5. The ten balls 5 are loosely supported to the circular disc 4. The balls 5 are positioned at a circumference with the axle 3 as a center. When the two wheels 1 are synchronously rotated, the balls 5 merely serve as spacers. When the two wheels 1 are rotated at different speeds, the balls 5 are rotated according to the motion of the two wheels 1 so as to revolve while rotating. Since friction between the two wheels 1 becomes rolling friction, the friction is extremely small and does not cause resistance in turning. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
