PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular view assistant unit capable of facilitating accurate recognition of a rear side image even when a brake lamp is lighted. SOLUTION: The vehicular view assistant unit 10 is provided with a display means 16 provided in a cabin; a control means 21 for controlling the display content in it; a photographing means 12 for photographing a rear side of the vehicle C forming a cabin; and an image signal processing means 23b for displaying a rear side image based on a rear side image signal received from it on a display means 16. When the image signal processing means 23 receives the display color-less signal outputted from the control means 21, it displays the rear side image based on the rear side image signal on the display means 16 in black and white.
