PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain shift lever device which allows the light emission by the inner peripheral part of a gate groove through which a shift lever passes and realizes no or little light emission unevenness of each light emission portion. SOLUTION: A light emission part 46 of a light guide 40 for emitting light to a side of a gate groove gradually increases the density of a reflection part 48 with distance away from a light source 42 toward both circumferences of a hole part 44. By so doing, the light emission amount to the side of a cover slide 28 in each portion of the light emission part 46 lying along the circumference of the hole 44 and also the difference in the light reflection amount to a side of the upper wall 16 in the cover slide 28 are reduced. As a result, the light emission unevenness in the vicinity of the inner circumferential part of a gate groove 18 along the circumference of the gate groove 18 is lessened.
