IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING PRINTING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming apparatus preventing smear staining of a paper from occurring by a simple constitution. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 11 is equipped with: a conveying path 13 connected with a paper feeding part 14 and paper discharging part 15, a conveying mechanism 16 for conveying the paper S along the conveying path 13; a plurality of liquid delivering heads for delivering a liquid to the paper S conveyed on the conveying path 13; a sensor provided at a position between a plurality of the liquid delivering heads and the paper discharging part 15 and measuring glossiness of the paper S to which the liquid is delivered; and a controlling mechanism 20 calculating drying time of the liquid by comparing the glossiness of the paper S just after the liquid is delivered with the glossiness measured by the sensor, and controlling the conveying speed of the conveying mechanism 16 so that the conveying time of the paper S from a plurality of the liquid delivering head to the paper discharging part 15 becomes equal to the drying time.
