PURPOSE:To provide a lubricant for refrigerator a specific polyoxyalkylene compound as a main component, excellent in compatibility, low hygroscopicity, and electric characteristics, and useful for freezers, etc. CONSTITUTION:The lubricant contains as a main component a polyoxyalkylene compound having (A) one or more of 1,1'-1 dimethyloxyethylene groups of formula I and (B) one or more of oxyalkylene groups of formula II (R<1> is 2-6C alkylene excluding 1, 1-dimethylethylene) in the molecule, wherein the number (m) of the 1, 1-dimethyloxyethylene groups in the molecule and the number (n) of the oxyalkylene groups in the molecule, satisfy inequalities III and IV. A composition for refrigerator is obtained from the mixture of the polyoxyalkylene compound with an alkane fluoride and/or an alkane chloride fluoride. |
