Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for pronunciation training for beginners of foreign language learning. The disclosed pronunciation learning apparatus includes: a vector calculating unit that calculates d number of first vectors for d number of syllables, n number of second vectors for n number of words, and a third vector that displays whether pronunciations of the user for the n number of words are correct or incorrect based on the pronunciations of the user for the n number of words - the j^th first vector of the d number of first vectors is a vector representing whether the j^th syllable of the d number of syllables is included in the n number of words, the i^th second vector of the n number of second vectors is a vector representing whether the d number of syllables are included in the i^th vector of the n number of words; a correlation value calculating unit that calculates d number of correlation values that are correlation values for the d number of first vectors and the third vector; a probability value calculating unit that calculates selection probability values for the n number of words - the selection probability value of the i^th word is calculated by using the i^th second vector and the d number of correlation values; and a selection unit that selects m number of words of the n number of words through a random selection based on the selection probability values of the n number of words. According to the present invention, beginners that learn a foreign language can be easily educated in an environment in which the foreign language is not used in everyday lives.
