PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader such that foreign matter can be easily removed in a short time by displaying the position of the foreign matter without inspecting whether there is foreign matter by cleaning the inside of the device entirely.SOLUTION: An image reader comprises: a read part for reading an image of a document; a reference member having a gray reference density; a conversion part; a correction part; and a control part. The control part executes: acquisition processing for acquiring correction data; determination document read processing for acquiring a gray gradation value corresponding to the gray reference density by reading a determination document, for acquiring a first gradation value corresponding to a first density, and for acquiring a second gradation value corresponding to a second density; determination processing for determining whether each gradation value is abnormal; region determination processing for determining presence of foreign matter in a first region when the gray gradation value is not abnormal and at least one of the first gradation value and second gradation value is abnormal; and display processing for displaying the presence of the foreign matter in the first region at a display part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
