In a polyphase rectifying equipment wherein strings of series connected rectifying elements are arranged vertically side-by-side in a cabinet, and wherein a centre terminal of the string forms the connection for an A.C. phase lead, and wherein the upper ends and lower ends of the strings are connected together to form positive and negative terminals respectively, and wherein there are at least two phase leads per phase so that the arrangement constitutes at least two parallel connected bridges, the order of connection of the phases U, V, W across the cabinet reverses every three terminals, i.e. to provide the sequence U, V, W, W, V, U, as shown. This arrangement tends to equalize the current in the parallel branches.</p> |
