<p>The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:0988374/C2/1> wherein R is an acetyl or hydroxymethyl radical, and their preparation by reacting 1-(51-nitrofurfurylideneamino) hydantoin with acetic anhydride or formaldehyde, respectively, under the influence of heat. Pharmaceutical preparations for treatment of bacterial infections, especially those of the urinary tract, comprise the above compounds together with an excipient, suitably as solutions, capsules, tablets and suspensions, for example in the form of a solution in a polyethylene glycol for intramuscular injection.</p> |
