A cyclodisilazanylsiloxane of the Formula (I) in which each R and R1 is (a) a saturated or unsaturated, optionally substituted, ' "hydro'- carbon group'or a'heterocyclic group, or (b) a hydrogen or fluorine atom or a silyl, siloxy, silylamino, silylhydrocarbyl, siloxyhydrocarbyl or N-hydrocarbon-silylamino 'group, or two groups R or R<SP>1</SP> on one Si atom may form with the Si atom a heterocyclic group, at least one of the groups R and R<SP>1</SP> being as defined under (a), X is a halogen atom, m and n are each 0, 1, 2 or 3 and total at most 3, and p is 1-6, is prepared by reacting a halosilane SiR<SP>1</SP> n X 4-n with a compound (II) in which M is an alkali metal atom. The preparation of the metalloxy compounds (II) is described in Specification 1,252,147. In Examples 1 and 2 N-(dimethyl lithiumoxysilyl)-N<SP>1</SP>-(trimethylsilyl) tetramethylcyclodisilazane is reacted with excess Me 2 SiCl 2 or an equimolar amount of N - (dimethyl chlorosilyl) - N<SP>1</SP> - (trimethylsilyl) - tetramethylcyclodisilazane to give product (1) Formula (A) p. 11 top and product (2) Formula (B) p. 12 |
