Pyrene reactive water-soluble dyes which have at least one sulphonic acid group and at least one group of formula -NRCH 2 Z, in which R is H or alkyl, aralkyl, cycloalkyl and Z is a fibre-reactive pyrimidine group, are prepared by reacting an aminopyrene sulphonic acid containing a group of formula -NRH in which R is as above with a fibre-reactive halogenomethylpyrimidine compound. Preferred dyes are of Formula I in which P is a pyrene sulphonic acid residue especially a trisulphonic acid, R 1 is a C 1-4 alkyl group or a hydrogen atom.
