The invention comprises compounds of formula wherein X is H, NO or NO 2 ; R 2 , R 3 , R 4 and R 5 (of which at least 1 is other than H) are each H, halogen, C 1-6 alkyl or alkoxy, (C 1-6 alkoxy)- carbonyl or CF 3 ; R 6 is H or C 1-6 alkyl; and A is 2-, 3- or 4-pyridyl, possibly substituted by C 1-6 alkyl. These compounds are prepared by reacting the corresponding substituted aniline with R 6 -CO-A, reducing the imine so formed to the above compound (X=H), nitrosating the latter to obtain the nitrosamine (X=NO), and reducing this to the hydrazine (X=NH 2 ). |
