An I.S.O. container, of steel and light metal construction, has the cross-beam above the, or each, end door connected to a removable roof so that with the roof removed and the end door or doors open an unobstructed entrance is provided. The roof has a downwardly directed channel member at its edges engaging upwardly directed flanges on the sides and end wall. Wedges 14 and pins 9 locate the roof in position and screws 11 engage captive nuts 12 on the roof. Customs seals may be fixed to tongues 19 after the roof has been located. End doors 4 are fixed-by bolts 7. Slinging eyes 16 are provided. |
